- Create an account for yourself on the registration page
at the irc.opera.com website. Make sure you enter a valid email address.
- You will receive an e-mail with a link you need to click on to confirm your newly created
account.
- Go to the irc.opera.com website and log in to X with your
newly created useraccount.
/msg x@services.opera.com login username password
- Click on Register A Channel.
- Read the Acceptable Use Policy on that
page and click on the "I ACCEPT THE ABOVE" button.
- Fill in the new channel application
and your new channel will be instantly registered.
- Bookmark the X command reference (or
my mirror).
Some useful commands to control X:
- /msg x showcommands #channel
Shows all the commands you can use on a channel, according to your access level.
- /msg x join #channel
This makes X join #channel
- /msg x set #channel autojoin on
When the flag is set ON, it makes X always join your channel.
- /msg x adduser #channel username access
This adds username to #channel with level access.
- /msg x ban #channel username
This bans username from #channel for a default of 3 hours.
- /msg x modinfo #channel automode username op
Setting this will make sure that username automatically gets OP when joining #channel.
